I've been blessed to write for Seventh-day Adventist ministries since 2006. Through the years, I've written news articles about churches in action, Bible studies about growing in Christ, a series of lessons teaching children how to pray, stories of lives transformed by the Three Angel's Messages, and materials on church growth in the book of Acts. I've also done my share of website copy, promotional writing, and editing of books, newsletters, and articles.

Why Olive Tree Writing?
In Zechariah chapter 4, God awakens the prophet with a vision of two graceful olive trees funneling oil into a golden, seven-branched lampstand. The prophet must have instantly recognized the lampstand that was to be kept always burning in the sanctuary.
Yet he asks, “What are these?”
The angel seems almost surprised. “Do you not know what these are?… This is the word of the Lord… ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”
How often are we like Zechariah! We see God shining brightly through an individual or an organization, and we forget that they cannot shine alone.
Behind each shining lamp must stand the olive tree of the indwelling, empowering Holy Spirit.
God has impressed this truth deeply into my own heart. Truly I am nothing without His grace.
The same truth applies with equal force to my writing. It is my daily prayer that every word I write will shaped by the study of God’s Word and empowered by the Holy Spirit. I seek to discern the golden threads of God’s story in each individual or organization—and then craft writing that lets them shine.
Why Olive Tree Writing? Because I long for the Holy Spirit to write God’s stories through my pen.
